There are a ton of articles out there about how to create good blog posts. They give you all kinds of resources, tools, and tips.

That’s all fine and dandy, but when you have to actually sit down and start blogging, it can get really confusing if you don’t have a process for doing the work.

Benefits of a Blogging Process

When I first started blogging and email marketing, my brain was on fire trying to remember all the details and things I was supposed to do. I was terrified I was going to forget or miss something and it was really stressing me out. I felt frantic.

It didn’t take long before I broke out the Excel spreadsheet and wrote down all the things I had to do. Now, I just follow along on the spreadsheet for each article I create. (Actually, since HubSpot has this awesome SEO tool embedded directly into their blog platform, I don’t need the spreadsheet as much. I still use certain elements of it though.)

It was the best thing I ever did. Here’s why:

  1. I can relax because I know I won’t forget anything, and my brain is free to be more creative. And as I learn new tips and tricks, I add them to the spreadsheet.
  2. It makes it easier to train other people how to do it, and ensure they do it right!

Free Blog Worksheet You Can Use

I recently searched around the Internet for tools, templates, or information about how people actually manage their blogging process, and I couldn’t find anything! HubSpot has these 5 Free Blog Post Templates, but they seem really confusing to me, and it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for anyway.

The closest thing I found was HubSpot’s On-Page SEO Template, but it’s not specific to blogging. It could also get really confusing for people who aren’t inbound marketing specialists. (Yes, I did look outside of HubSpot for resources, I just didn’t see anything.)

That’s why I’d like to share my own blog process workeet with you. Check it out, and let me know if it helps. If you have other ideas on how to manage the blogging process, please share them in the comments below.
