2 Ways Small Businesses Can Reduce Inbound Marketing Costs

Inbound marketing can get costly. So how can you afford it, especially if you’re a small business? Here are 2 ways to reduce your inbound marketing costs:

1. Do-it-Yourself

If you’re trying to grow a small business, you already know that you have to wear many hats. The cost of your inbound marketing is directly tied to how much time investment you personally can dedicate to the process. For example, it costs WAY less to write an ebook yourself vs. hiring someone to do it for you.

Entrepreneurs work long and arduous hours to be successful. Here I am on Sunday at 9:00 pm writing an article because I know I have to do it to grow. It’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.

There is something more important than sacrificing time though. I like writing and am skilled at it, so it’s a good investment for me and a way to reduce my content creation costs.

2. Hire an Expert

(It’s true - outsourcing marketing work can save you money.)

Now, if I was sitting here on a Sunday at 9:00 pm trying to create graphics for a call-to-action or ebook or something like that, it would be a TOTAL waste of my time and would do nothing to help me grow. I’m not good at that, it takes me too long, and the outcome is insufficient.

If I need graphics, I have to find a way to scrape resources together to hire that out. If I have to do it myself, I seriously might as well not bother. It won’t do me any good.

Take away: If you are going to do-it-yourself, make sure you can do it well. If you have to force yourself to do work you really don’t want to do or aren’t that good at, hire an inbound marketing expert instead. It will actually save you money in the long run.
