What is a Content Offer?

Posted by Krista Moon on June 10, 2014

One of the main reasons to have a website is to get people "into your world". By that, I mean they're actively engaged with your company at some level: they're on your email list, connected with you on social media, or are in conversations with your sales team.

The only way to get someone into your world is to get them to willingly give you their contact information. It's a little counter-intuitive: we usually think of prospects running away from salespeople as fast as possible, and yet here I am saying that they need to self-select into the sales process.

How in the world does that happen?

Why Sales Training Without Lead Generation is Ineffective

Posted by Krista Moon on January 6, 2014

Sales is tough - there are a gazillion components you need to master to be really good at it. Because it's driven by feelings and emotions more than anything else, you need to understand how to connect with people and guide them through the decision making process.

There aren't many "sales" college degrees out there, and most salespeople haven't had much specific training. But there are definitely strategies that work - and don't work. It takes a lot of time, effort and know-how to become a sales guru.

That's why sales training is critical for successful sales teams. However, most sales training focuses on what to do once a prospect is engaged. That's great, but I was in sales for over 12 years, cold calling and knocking on doors, and the biggest struggle I had was actually getting an appointment. Here's what we did:

What is a Landing Page?

A landing page is a lead capture web page. It has a form that a website visitor has to fill out in order to get a special offer, like a coupon, discount, ebook, video, or some other type of valuable content.

The landing page conversion rate is the percentage of people that fill out the form.

Here's the most important part: Once a website visitor fills out the form, they get entered into your database and can be followed up on by a salesperson or furthered nurtured until they're ready for a sales call.

Landing pages are the lifeblood of online lead generation.

Here's an example of what a landing page looks like:

One of the most critical elements that can impact the effectiveness of your ebook is its visual representation. If it's formatted poorly and looks unprofessionally prepared, it makes you look poor and unprofessional.

The old saying "you can't judge a book by it's cover" may be true, but the reality is that great covers and titles capture people's attention and makes them want to download your ebook.

Investing time and resources in creating in a good graphical representation of your content is critical.
